HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER (HSE)

A full-time position exists for a Health & Safety Manager in our customer’s established Calgary drywall construction/renovations company. Worksites are primarily in Calgary. You will ensure compliance with laws and monitor the company Safety Program with employees and subcontractors. The ideal candidate will be forward thinking and interested in growing the safety aspects of the company as new thinking/patterns emerge. Related residential or multi-family construction experience invaluable.

Duties and Responsibilities

Administer the Safety Program
Co-lead meetings with senior management
Train workers and participate in education to maintain your skill and knowledge levels
Act as Lead Internal Auditor
Investigate Workplace Incidents and Injuries
Manage WCB Claims
Conduct site inspections

Qualifications

CSO Certification or Equivalent
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Computer Proficiency
Solid communication skills a must.

Health and Safety Officer in Laos

HSE Manager, Laos, Southeast Asia

Start date ASAP

Our customer, currently constructing a major hydro power station in Laos, requires a health, safety and environment officer immediately. You will develop safety policies and procedures, oversee the program, conduct on-site inspections/audits, accident investigation, training and documentation.

Reporting to the project management comprised of three (3) international partners, this project will require your services until autumn 2012.

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor degree in safety or industrial engineering
Current Safety certification in the U.S., Britain, Canada, etc.
Heavy civil engineering construction experience
Physical fitness level suitable for field work.

Construction of hydro facilities including dams, tunnels, electrical/mechanical equipment installations an asset.

Compensation:

$10,000 plus, per month, paid in U.S. dollars.
